The first volume of Ratcliffe Registers is bound in parchment covered boards, and consists of fifteen parchment leaves, measuring 14½ inches by 8¾ inches. Some blank leaves have been cut away at the end of the volume, and others appear to be missing at the beginning. Three pages are taken up with parish memoranda. This volume contains Baptisms and Burials from 1699 to 1801, and Marriages from 1698 to 1760. Transcripts of an earlier volume of Ratcliffe Registers are preserved at Lincoln and Leicester. At Lincoln, 1606 to 1609. At Leicester, 1566, 1578-9, 1612, 1621, 1622, 1625 to 1629, 1632 to 1634, 1636 to 1639, 1660 to 1664, 1671 to 1680, 1682, 1683, 1685 to 1687, 1690 to 1696, 1698 to 1700.
A supplemental volume in small folio consists of fifteen parchment leaves measuring 12¾ inches by 8½ inches, and bound in rough calf. This volume contains Baptisms and Burials from 1802 to 1812, these entries only occupying four and a-half pages, the remainder of the leaves being blank.
Volume II. is “the Register Book for the Registering of all Banns and Marriages published or solemnized in the Parish Church of Ratcliffe-on-the-Wreak.” This volume, consisting of ten parchment leaves bound in paper covers, contains entries of Banns and Marriages from 1754 to 1808.
Volume III. a folio book of paper leaves (printed forms) contains Marriages from 1815 to 1837.
