There are now no registers at Harston previous to 1707 though Nichols records that when he wrote, there existed a volume beginning in 1564.
Transcripts previous to 1701, are preserved at Leicester for the years 1581-2, 1612, 1613, 1617, 1621, 1625 to 1629, 1632 to 1634, 1636 lo 1638, 1662, 1663, 1672, 1674, 1675, 1677 to 1681, 1683. 1614, 1687, 1688, 1690 to 1692, 1696, 1699 and 1700; and at Lincoln for 1604, 1606 to 1609, and 1618.
These Marriages are contained in the following four volumes :—
Volume I. a book about 14 inches by 7 inches, bound in parchment covered boards, and containing sixteen leaves with entries of Baptisms 1707-1775, Burials 1707-1774, and Marriages 1707-1776. In the latter part of the volume the Marriages are entered in very irregular order, though in these abstracts their sequence is corrected in accordance with their chronology.
Volume II. also in parchment boards and of nearly the same size contains 19 parchment leaves and entries of Baptisms 1774 to 1811, Burials 1777 to 1811, and Marriages 1777 to 1809.
Volume III. contains two Marriages, in 1811 and 1812 respectively.
Volume IV. contains Marriages from 1813 to 1837.
