The Marriages in these Registers, previous to 1837, are contained in the following six volumes:—
Volume I. consists of 22 leaves of parchment measuring 15½ in. by 6 in., and contains entries of Baptisms, Burials and Marriages from 1611 to 1671.
Volume II. consists of 28 leaves of parchment measuring 11 in. by 8 in. and contains entries of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, from 1672 to 1726.
Volume III. is of paper and consists of only sixteen leaves, measuring 16 in. by 6¼ in. ; it contains Baptisms, from 1726 to 1812 ; Burials, from 1727 to 1812, and Marriages from 1728 to 1754.
Volume IV., also of paper, contains Marriages from 1754 to 1810.
Volume V. contains Marriages from October, 1810, to the end of
1812.
Volume VI. contains Marriages from 1813 to 1837.
At Lincoln are transcripts for the years 1604, 1606, 1607 and 1609 previous to the beginning of the present registers of Gilmorton, and at Leicester for the years 1561-2, 1582-3, 1584-5, 1590, 1592-3, and for several of the missing years, such as 1628-9, 1632, and 1690 to 1694.
These marriages have been abstracted by the Rector of Gilmorton, the Rev. E. Jackson, and are now printed under his supervision
