The early registers of Congerston are lost. The registers under review consist of three volumes:-
Volume I. records the Marriages from 1756-1779; also notices of the publication of Banns of Marriage; 1765-1769. The volume contains five parchment leaves in brown paper covers, and measures 16 inches by 10 inches.
Volume II. contains the Marriages from 1780-1795. The volume consists of seven parchment leaves, bound in cardboard, and measures 14 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches.
Volume III. contains the Marriages from 1796-1812, also the Christenings and Burials. It consists of six parchment leaves, bound in leather, and measures 15 inches by 9 1/4 inches. On the flyleaf is written:
"Congerston Register, beginning with the year 1796, John Roby then Rector.
N.B.
C. stands for Congerston Parish.

Bn. ,, Bilston

The Burials begin at page 7, 3. John Sands, Churchwarden."
Where not otherwise stated the Marriages are by Banns. These Marriages have been transcribed by Mr. Leopold Choice, of Disley in Cheshire, with the permission of the Rev. L. 0. Warner, the present incumbent of Congerston.
