The Registers of this chapelry, previous to 1830, consist of two Volumes, which are now preserved with the records of the mother church at Melton Mowbray.
Vol. I. is of parchment, the leaves, eight in number, measuring 11½ by 7 1/3 inches, and bound in rough calf. It contains on three leaves (rest of the book blank) nine entries of Marriages only, dating from 1762 to 1778, and two for 1828. For earlier Marriages, and those during the intervening years between 1778 and 1813, search must be made at Melton Mowbray, where they took place.
Vol. II. is also of parchment, the leaves measuring 13 by 8 inches and bound in parchment boards. It contains entries of Baptisms and Burials from 1778 to 1829.
The Register book mentioned by Throsby, the historian, as dating from 1719, and evidently the same book referred to in the Parliamentary return of 1831 as containing entries of Baptisms and Burials from 1718 to 1812, cannot now be found. Registers for all classes of entries since 1830 are kept at Burton Lazars.
These Marriages, like those of Melton, have been extracted by Mr. Henry Hartopp, and are now printed under his supervision.
